The All Souls community is immensely
caring and mutually supportive. The primary pastors are the
lay people. Clergy and trained Lay Eucharistic Ministers regularly
call on people at home or in the hospital. The rector and
other clergy staff are available for pastoral care, counseling,
and sacramental confession by appointment and can be called
at any time in the event of a crisis or emergency. We have
an active healing team who meet regularly to pray for those
in need and who provide the laying on of hands for healing
during our Sunday liturgies.
Pastoral care at All Souls is mostly an informal yet well-organized
activity. When families or individuals experience crises or
needs, they receive help in the form of meals, childcare,
laundry, transportation, and visits and companionship. Lay
Eucharist Ministers provide ongoing care for housebound members
by bringing communion from the Sunday Eucharist.
