God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I made between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow on the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” (Genesis 9:12-13)


Recent Activities:

  • Joined with other Episcopal congregations in supporting the Standing Rock Sioux  opposition to the Dakota Access oil pipeline, including sending funds to aid those in  the forefront
  • Witnessed at Interfaith Vigil at Oakland City Hall, opposing creation of coal export facility at the former Oakland Army Base and coal shipments via rail into Oakland
  • Presented adult education series:
    • Climate Change (Fall 2014)
    • Preserving God’s Creation: A Faith-Based Response to Environmental  Challenges (Winter 2015)
    • Practices of Stewardship of the Earth (Winter 2016)
  • Led effort to install solar panels on the church roof
  • Led discussion of Pope Francis’s Encyclical on Climate Change and Inequality
  • Participated in climate change event at Church Divinity School of the Pacific:  “Solar Panels, Theology and the Environment: Reflections from the Paris Climate Talks”
