Diana Markley

Diana(she/her) joined the staff as parish administrator in September of 2023. She was born in Dayton, Ohio but spent her formative years in Southern California. She obtained a B.S. in Social Work from the Ohio State University and has always felt a deep calling for service.

Diana has spent her career working in the nonprofit sector primarily addressing the issues of housing, food, and income insecurity. Shortly after moving to the Bay in 1993, she began working at United Way of the Bay Area and spent the last decade at two nationally recognized food banks, the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank and the Alameda County Community Food Bank, where she served as Director of Programs. For the past six years, she volunteered on the Board of Directors for Beyond Emancipation, whose mission is to support youth in the foster care system with their education, employment, and basic needs as they transition into adulthood.

Diana, along with her husband Keith, raised Malena, Elise, Andrew, and Will, their identical twins, in Oakland. They have been parishioners at St. John’s for the past 20+ years. Diana loves spending time with her family and friends and is passionate about nature, music, art, film, architecture, gardens, and travel. Once all four of her children have graduated college, she dreams of traveling the world.
