
The Rev. Rachel Dykzeul
The Rev. Rachel Dykzeul (she/her) joined the staff of All Souls Parish in 2025 as the Associate for Welcome and Kinship. In this role, she oversees programs that cultivate deep connection and belonging and bring about vibrant community life. Mother Rachel also participates in the spiritual leadership of the parish through liturgy development, adult formation, pastoral care, and membership.
Before coming to All Souls, Mother Rachel was a seminarian at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Oakland, where she served the community as a lay liturgical assistant and then as a transitional deacon before being ordained to the priesthood in June 2025. In her career, Mother Rachel has focused on how individuals and small groups respond to God through spiritual practices and cultivated life rhythms. She is passionate about small-group spiritual formation and helping folks experiment with Christian spiritual practices.
Mother Rachel was born in Fremont, CA, and has always called the East Bay home. She married her partner Theo Dykzeul, an educator, in 2012 at the Brazil Room in Tilden Park, and the two of them have four young children together. They enjoy being outdoors, growing vegetables, camping, hiking, and traveling the world. Mother Rachel holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from San Francisco State University, a Master of Divinity from San Francisco Theological Seminary, and a Certificate in Anglican Studies from Church Divinity School of the Pacific.
